Welcome

Chambre d’Hôtes Ancien Presbytère is a Bed & Breakfast situated in a hamlet named Korneg. There are 8 houses which are all occupied during the year. In the past Korneg was much bigger, when you imagine there were already 2 local chapels at around 1km distance. These are not exsisting anymore, but the foundations a one of the chapel were rediscovered a few years ago. The chapel named “Notre Dame de Pitié” is at 15 min walking through the woods and still exsisting and used by some occasion during the year. These 3 chapels were managed by the priests living in this house, the “old presbytery” , build in 1667. The signs on the front wall of the house are showing the building year with the … of Christ. On the right side of the window see the …kelk and hostie, and above, the name of the first priest living here. He was named Henry Lemest.

The house was built in 2 staires like all the presbyteries in the area, on the first floor, a big room to welcome everyone, and a kitchen. On the upper floor were the sleeping rooms.

In the year 1675 there were revolt of the Bonnets rouges and the upper floor was “decapitated” so that this house was not higher than the farms around, which we can see easily on the right opening in the roof, which was a door to get into a part of the upper floor, on the right side of the wall with an enormous fireplace. It is around 3,5 meters wide.

The Revolt of the papier timbré was an anti-fiscal revolt in the west of Ancien Régime France, during the reign of Louis XIV from April to September 1675. It was fiercest in Lower Brittany, where it took on an anti-lordly tone and became known as the revolt of the Bonnets rouges (after the blue or red caps worn by the insurgents according to region) or revolt of the Torrebens (a war cry and signature in one of the peasant codes). It was unleashed by an increase in taxes, including the papier timbré, needed to authenticate official documents.

simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
